2024 Election Dates

 

  •  Spring Election - Tuesday, April 2.
  • General Election Primary - Tuesday, August 13.
  • Presidential Election - Tuesday, November 5.

Absentee Voting

Please Note: If you are not already registered, you will need to register to vote before an absentee ballot can be sent to you. A new registration is required anytime you move or change your name.

You may vote absentee in person starting 14 days prior to the election until the Friday before the election.  Please call ahead to schedule an appointment if you would like to vote absentee in person.

BY MAIL:  

Absentee ballot requests can be obtained by requesting one at the Village Hall or can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Please be advised that a photocopy of a photo I.D. must accompany the application request. 

 

Per the WI Elections and Ethics Commissions regulations: 

  • If the request is made by mail it must be in the office of the municipal clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding an election. (This is the last day a clerk can mail an absentee ballot to an elector.)
  • If the request is made in-person at the clerk's office-it can be made until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the election.
  • Special provisions are made for hospitalized electors and sequestered jurors to request and vote by absentee ballot on election day.
  •  There is no registration Saturday, Sunday, or Monday preceding the election.
  • Residency Requirement:  A resident must live in Sherwood 28 days prior to the election to vote in Sherwood.

 Polling Place

 The Village's public polling place is at the Village Gym, adjacent to the Village Hall at W482 Clifton Road:

 The polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

  • The Village Clerk can assist you with questions regarding election preregistration.  Voter registration applications are available at the Village office, or you may download the forms at the Wisconsin Elections Commission website or here:
  • Proof of Village residency and proper identification (suggested: a valid Wisconsin driver's license) is required when submitting your registration form.  Preregistration is highly recommended.
  • There is no registration Saturday, Sunday, or Monday preceding the election pursuant to the Photo Voter Identification Legislation.
