The Sherwood Village Hall is located at W482 Clifton Road in the Sherwood Rec Center/Plaza building.  Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. excluding holidays.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Law Enforcement - To report violations of county or state laws, please contact the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department – non-emergency 920-849-2335.  In the event of an emergency, dial 911.

Fire Protection – The Village currently contracts Harrison Fire and Rescue Volunteer Fire Department #1.  If it is an emergency, dial 911, for non-emergencies, call the Harrison office, (920) 989-1062.

VOTER INFORMATION

Voter Registration - The Village Clerk can assist you with questions regarding election pre-registration.  Voter registration applications are available at the Village office or on our website www.villageofsherwood.org under resident information.  Please provide proof of Village residence and proper identification (suggested a valid Wisconsin driver’s license).  If interested in becoming an election poll worker, please contact the Village Clerk.

DOG LICENSING

Dog Licenses - Owners of dogs 5 months of age and over are required to register their dog(s) with the Village Clerk.  Proof of a rabies vaccination must be provided at the time of registration with payment of the annual dog license fee.  Dog licenses are issued annually and are valid through Dec. 31.  The fee is $5 for dogs which are spayed or neutered and $10 for dogs that are not.  A late fee of $5 is applied after March 31.  By local ordinance, households must not have more than three dogs.

REFUSE & RECYCLING

Garbage Collection - Collection is very Friday for the entire village (except holiday weeks would be on Saturday).  Recyclables are collected every other Friday on a rotating basis.  Please refer to the recyclable schedule and map for further information. 95 gallon ($185 per yr) - payment of the rental of the cart/service is a pre-payment on the tax roll.  All garbage must be contained in the refuse cart for collection.  Each village household is assigned a recycling cart (96 gallon - one size only) and is picked up on a bi-weekly basis (same date as garbage collection).  Once a year (springtime) we provide a large/overflow item pickup.

YARD WASTE SITE

Yard Waste Site - The yard waste site is open seasonally.  It is located at the corner of Cty M and Kesler Rd (on east corner).  Hours:  April – some Saturdays only 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (check with office for dates).  Starting May 1, hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 2pm- 6pm, Saturdays 8am-3pm, and Sundays 9am-Noon.  We accept grass, leaves and small brush items.  The first two(2) Saturdays in November are 8am-3pm, and the first Sunday from 9am-noon.  Please place your waste on the appropriate pile.  Absolutely no concrete, black top and other materials that will not compost over time.  If you have questions, please ask the on-site staff.

WATER & SEWER

Water & Sewer - The Sherwood Sewer & Water Utility billing is billed on a monthly basis.  The residential service rate for water is $18.01 base meter charge plus $5.91 per thousand gallons usage per quarter.  The residential service rate for sewer is $30.31 base charge plus $3.77 per thousand gallons usage per quarter.  For your convenience a payment drop box is located outside the Village office door.

MEETING SCHEDULE

Meetings are held at the Village Hall, W482 Clifton Road.  All meetings begin at 6:30pm

Village Board meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Monday of each month

The Plan Commission meets on the first Monday of the month  

The Park, Rec, and Urban Tree Board (PRUT) meets on the third Monday of the month 

Community Development Authority (CDA) meets the 4th Wednesday of the month 

 

The meeting agendas are posted at the following locations:  Sherwood Post Office (message board), Dick's Family Foods Grocery Store (message board), the Sherwood Village office (indoor and outdoor message board), and the Village website www.villageofsherwood.org.  The meetings are open to all Village residents and/or general public (unless posted as a closed session).  Residents are urged to attend any or all meetings to voice their concerns and/or questions.  All public notices are published in The Times-Villager, the Village’s newspaper of record.

FACILITY RENTALS

Facility Rentals - The Village has four facilities that are available to rent. The Community Center, Village Gym, Legion Park Shelter, and Wanick Park Shelter or Amphitheater. Click the link above for detailed rental information.

TAXES

Real Estate Taxes - Tax payment checks should be made payable to:  Village of Sherwood Treasurer.  Payments can be made at the Village office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  Payments can also be placed in the drop box located outside the Village office entrance or sent by mail to:  Village of Sherwood, PO Box 279, Sherwood, WI 54169.  If a receipt is requested, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.  Tax payments are only accepted at the Village office through January 31.  After January 31 payments must be sent to Calumet County.
